MINUTES OF THE MAY 23rd MEETING OF THE PORT KIWANIS
May 23, 2006 No. 34 , 2005-2006
NEXT MEETING: Tuesday May 30th at the Parkside Grill in Saukville at 6:30 P.M.
Pres. Dan will have a speaker from COPE SERVICES " The Ozaukee County Hotline"
MEETING: The meeting was called to order at 7:15 P.M. by Pres. Dan Hargarten.
Attendance ------------20 members and 4 guests. , Jerry Wiskow's wife Kathy,
Elmer Adam and the two speakers, Donna Grady and Jennifer Harris, Massage
Therapists'.
Prayer -----------By Jerry Wiskow.
Pledge----------Led by Pres. Dan.
Song------------"For They Are Jolly Good Fellows ", to all who helped put the roof
on the Kiwanis Pavilion.
Thought---------By Jerry Wiskow.
Drawing---------Won by Barb Kobishop. $10 to the Club.
Auction---------A 30 minute massage-bought by Jerry Wiskow for $21.00.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. Roof on the Pavilion. We spent $73 on nails ,etc. True Value Hardware sold them
to us at half price. I have a list of 14 Roofers. If I missed someone I'll get
them next week they are: John S. , Ralph H. , Lowell T. , Gene and Jeff Giltner ,
Roger strohm ,, Denny Williamson , Dan Hargarten , Jerry Wiskow , Mike Ehrlich ,
Paul Ehrlich and Gary and Erin Boehle.
Manhours counting pre-installion time and the installion came to 96 hours.
Good work guys!!!
2.Aluminum Can Recepticles--Assembled and ready for labeling.
3.Plymouth Scholarship awards-----June 5th. Would like a rep from each club in
Div. 11.
4. Siebkins Breakfast and Golf----June 8th at 7 A.M. Bill Schroeder will be the
speaker.
5. Site for Accesible Playground---John Sigwart and the City Engineer surveyed the
city and decided that the parking lot at the end of the North slip would be a good
location. The engineer will push this site . The playground could be built in
steps over a 5 year period. This would be more logical for the club to suceed with
the project.
ELECTION OF CLUB OFFICERS ,CLUB BOARD AND FOUNDATION BOARD FOR
THE YEAR 2006-2007
The SLATE of CLUB OFFICERS was announced as:

Pres. Dan asked 3 times for further nominations.There being no further nominations
the nominatios were closed . Lowell Tainter made a motion that the Secretary cast
one unanimous ballet for the slate, seconded by Jerry Wiskow. Vote unanimous.
CLUB BOARD :
3 year term--Mike Ehrlich and Kenny Mitchell
2 year term--Jeff Callies and Jerry Wiskow
1 year term--- Grace Eernisse and Donna Janisch
There were no further nominations. Secretary cast one unanimous ballet for the above.
FOUNDATION BOARD:
3 year term ------Ralph Hess , Lowell Tainter and Marc Eernisse.
There being no further nominations the secretary cast one unnanimous ballet for
the 3 year term nominees.
The 2 year term of George Lampert , Mardy McGarry and Paul Quail remain as such
and donot need to be voted on.
Likewise the 1 year term of Jim Olson , Barb Kobishop and Paul Ehrlich.
The above elected members will be installed in late Sept. or early Oct. , 2006
GOOD NEWS: Seven Members had good news and contributed $7 to the administrative fund.
PROGRAM: Jerry Wiskow introduced the speakers of the evening, Massage Therapists
Donna Grady and Jennifer Harris from Ray Of Light Massage Therapy in Downtown Port
Washington. Donna and Jennifer explained the object of the therapy is to relieve
or lesson pain by stretching the muscle and by massage. They are not allowed to
diagnose cause and recommend that you check witha doctor to determine whether
something other than muscle
strain or fatigue are the cause of pain.
It was a very interesting program with many question being posed to the
therapists. Thanks Jerry for the interesting program.
