Tuesday meeting

MINUTES OF THE MAY 9th MEETING OF THE PORT KIWANIS
   
  May 9 , 2006                                                   No. 32, 2005-2006
   
  NEXT MEETING:  Tuesday May 16th at Nisleit's restaurant at 6:30 P.M. Grace
Eernisse will have Marc ,the Chairman of the Port Fire Memorial, as the speaker.
Foundation at 5:45 P.M.
  Saturday May 13th the Board will meet at Jerry Wiskow's house at 8 A.M.
  Saturday , May 13th  The Governor's Banquet at the K.C. hall in West Bend. Dinner
at 7 P.M.
   
  MEETING: This was the annual High Honors Banquet. It was held at the Squires Golf
Club. Photos of the Honor Students were taken for the Oz. Press. The meeting was
called to order at 6:45 P.M. by Pres. Dan Hargarten. The prayer was  given by Rev.
Knox.
  The pledge was led by Pres. Dan.  Dave Bernander on the guitar and Principal Duane
Woefel vocalizing, led us in singing America The Beautiful.
  Attendance---20 Members.  17 Honor students, 9 Honored guests including the
speaker and 23 parents.
   
  ANNOUNCEMENTS: Along time, very active member of the Kiwanis Club, Alfred (Razzi )
Ratatori passed away today. Marc Eernisse made the announcement and asked for a
moment of silence in remembrance of him.
   
  Dave Bernander, his anniversary of joining the Port Kiwanis 8 years ago. Pres. Dan
Crowned him with the Flamingo hat and we all sang   "For He's A Jolly Good
Fellow".
   
  GOOD NEWS: Lots of folks both members and guests had good news this past week.
Eleven people contributed $21 to the good news fund.
   
  DINNER: At about 7P.M. we passed through the buffet line and came back to our
tables with a plate full of delicious food.
   
  PROGRAM: After dinner Bob Koch took over as M.C. Bob Introduced the Speaker, Ann
Hilts, a 1989 graduate of Port High. 
  who is now the Vice- Pres./Director of Participant Education for Wells Fargo
Institutional Trust Services "formerly the Strong Funds" of Menominee Falls.
  Ann gave a very good presentation to the Honor Students on how to succeed in
college and what to look forward to after graduation.
  Certificates of Congratulation on their achievment were presentated to each student.
   
  CALENDAR OF EVENTS:
  Sat. May 13th, Board meeting at Jerry Wiskow's at 8 A.M.
  Sat. May 13th, Governors Banquet at 7 P.M. at the K.C. Hall in West Bend.
  Sunday May 14th, MOTHER'S DAY.
  Tues. May 16th, club meeting at Nesleit's at 6:30 P.M.
  Tues. May 23rd , club meeting at the Rusty Anchor.
