MINUTES OF THE SEPTEMBER 25th MEETING OF THE PORT KIWANIS
September 25, 2007 No. 52 , 2006-2007
NEXT MEETING: Tuesday October 2nd at 6:30 P.M. at Nisleit's. I believe that Mike
Ehrlich will be having the speaker. Other meetings, The first meeting of the
Concordia Circle K will meet on this Thursday ,Sept. 27th in a room yet to be
assigned. John will send the date when he gets it. Meals on Wheels on Wed. Oct. 3rd.
Also installation of Officers by Lt. Gov. Dallas Behnke on the 2nd.
MEETING: The meeting was called to order at7:12 P.M. by Pres. John Sigwart.
Attendance--------20 Members and one guest,Lowell Tainter's wife Pat. It was their
57th wedding anniversary.
Prayer-------------By Rev. Knox.
Pledge------------Led by Pres.John.
Song--------------Shine On Harvest Moon.
Drawing----------Won by Paul Ehrlich. $10 to the club.
GOOD NEWS: Lots of good news.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. Pres. John distributed a ballot for us to vote on a name for the club. Those not
present will be mailed ballots. All ballots must be in by Tuesday October the 9th to
be counted.
2. Pres. Elect Sally distributed an ANNUAL Club Assessment survey to be filled out
and turned in by the 9th.
3. Installation of Officers on October 2nd.
4. Circle K first meeting at Concordia on Thursday Sept. 27th.
5.Peanut Day is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. the 3rd. A sign up sheet will soon be
passed around.
6. Over-Look Park. Will meet with the city council on Tuesday Oct. 16th. We would
like to have lots of members attend.
7. We are looking for a membership chair person. Our membership held steady this
year but we need some energetic new members.
8. We need to resolve, the once a month, being moved into the small open room where
we do not have privacy and the acoustics are terrible
9. Pres. John thanked all of the Board Members who faithfully attended the Board
meetings along with the many club members who also attended.
9 b. Barb and Jim have switched their contribution from Real Estate sales from
Childrens Miracle Network to the Possibility Playground.
10. Rev. Knox said his farewell to the club as he prepares to move to Texas. He has
requested that we continue to email him the bulletin . He hopes to get back next
year to help with Fish Day.
PROGRAM: Pres. John introduced our member, Paul Quail , who took us on a slide
projection trip
from Vancouver, B.C . East, by train and bus, through the beautiful Rocky Mountains
and plains to Toronto and Niagra Falls to Lake Ontario. It was a great presentation
by Paul. We enjoyed the trip as much as he did and we didn't have to spend 2 and a
half days in his room on the train.
