MINUTES OF THE SEPT. 11th MEETING OF THE PORT KIWANIS
Sept. 11 ,2007 No. 49 , 2006-2007
NEXT MEETING:
Tuesday Sept. 18th at 6:30 P.M. at Nisleit's. Jeff Callies is scheduled to have the
speaker.
MEETING: The meeting was called to order by Pres. John Sigwart at 7:11 P.M.
Attendance----------18 members.
Prayer------------------By Pres. John.
Pledge------------------Led by Pres. John.
Song--------------------Linda played the violin and we sang "Happy Birthday Jim Olson".
Drawing---------------Won by Marv Huiras. $8 to the club.
GOOD NEWS: Maybe 5 members had good news this past week.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. A moment of silence in memory of the 2000+ Souls lost on 09/11/01.
2. It was our 49th club meeting. We have 3 more to go to end the 2006-2007 year.
3. There were 14 members and 3 guests at the Sept.8th Board meeting.
4.Foundation Report--$100 to the Jail Literacy Program ----$600 to Charter a Circle
K club at Concordia.---$505 to childrens hospital.
5.Key Club----Some time ago we voted to fund 2 Key clubbers to attend our meetings
once a month. This has not been used. We should look into getting some to come .
6.Community Education Foundation---will be sponsoring its 2nd annual Port Homecoming
Celebration this fall. It is a fund raiser. It will be held Fri. Oct. 12th from
6P.M. til Midnight at the Country Inn Suites.
Silent Auction, raffle,music,food, money contributions etc. For more info

7. Christmas Parade---Planning to have a float in the parade with "WOYC" theme.
8.Club couples to contact Mike and Sue Corbin to interest them in becoming
members.(262-284-2126).
9.Look Out Park. Paul Ehrlich and some of our members will approach the city council
on Sept. 25th with a proposal to name the site "George Lampert Look-Out". Also to
discuss what kind of plaque to install.
10. Improvements to our Pavilion---We will pay for the materials and the city will
do the work.
11. Hwy clean-up. Will bescheduled in early Oct.
12. Playground---Hope to convince the city to convert the booster station to an
accessible rest room.
13.Mardy outlined the many fund raisers planned in the next 6 or so months.
!4. Pres. John says that the city has agreed to extend the sidewall to the
playground area.
