MINUTES OF THE JULY 10th MEETING OF THE PORT KIWANIS

July 10 , 2007                                           No. 40 , 2006-2007

NEXT MEETING: Board at the Rusty Anchor at 8 A.M. on Sat. July14th. Club meeting is
Tuesday July 17th at 6:30 P.M. at Nisleit's.
Also the Foundation will meet again at 5:45 P.M.

MEETING : The meeting was called to order at 7:22 P.M. by Pres. Elect Sally Ehrlich.
Attendance---------19 members and 2 guests. Gary Boehle's wife carol who is planning
to become a member. Dan Hargarten brought the speaker, Cindy Dasback a dog trainer
from Dogs for Dignity.
Prayer -------By Paul Quail.
Pledge-------Led by Pres. Elect Sally.
Song --------Take Me Out To The Ball Game on the ALL STAR GAME DAY.
Drawing------Won by Dan Hargarten. $8 to the club.

GOOD NEWS: Four or 5 members had Good News , also a few dollars for some bad news.

Announcements: Maritime Days, the 1st weekend in August. We will have a sno-cone and
water stand. Karen is making a work schedule sheet.
Carnival on the Bluff netted about $3000.
Fish Day. John is setting up a work schedule. Let him know which shift you prefer.
 Making "funny hats"for Fish Day workers to wear will be manufactured on Mardy's
Terrace on Sunday July 15th beginning at 4:00 P.M. You All come and help.
Aluminum can collection. The drum at our Pavilion was filled to capacity. The othe
two had about a bushel in each. Cans were cashed in , total was $28.60 (includes
other cans). 
Meals on Wheels were delivered on Friday July 6th.

PROGRAM:
Dan Hargarten contacted Cindy Dasbach a Trainer For "DOGS for DIGNITY". The goal as
a trainer is to help to provide independance to  clients by providing them with a
four legged companion who will perform the necessary duties to allow them easier
access to life.

Cindy told of the procedure from puppy to foster home to training to companion to
ownership if the individual meets certification standards. 
All monies are via donations. People get paid but it is a non-profit organization.
It was a very interesting program. Thanks Dan for bringing Cindy.

1. Kewaskum Pow Wow. Thursday July 19th , $18 for the meal.
2. Board at Rusty Anchor , Sat. July 14th at 8A.M.
3. Foundation, Tues. July 17th at 5:45 P.M. at Nisleit's.
4. Club meeting at 6:30 P.M. July 17th
 at Nisleit's.
5. Fish Day Saturday July 21st. Some set up Friday July 20th.
6. Maritime Heritage Festival  Sat. & Sun. Aug. 4th and 5th.
