MINUTES OF THE JULY 31st MEETING OF THE PORT KIWANIS
July 31 ,2007 No.43 , 2006-2007
NEXT MEETING: Tuesday August 7th at 6:30 P.M. at Nisleit's.Karen will have the
speaker of the evening ,Bob Holland of the YMCA.
MEETING: The meeting was called to order at 7:10 P.M. by Pres. John Sigwart.
Attendance---------19 members and 3 guests. The guests were Past members Elmer Adam
and Don Schmit from their winter homes in Arizona. Also Gary Boehle brought his wife
Carol who is planning to join the club.
Prayer-------We sang a Dinner Prayer to the tune of Edelweiss.
Pledge--------- Led by Pres. John.
Song-----------Ralph suggested that we sing Razzi's favorite song "WhenKiwanis
Calls", This we did.
Drawing-------- Won by Ralph. $11 to the club.
GOOD NEWS: Many hands went up with great stories of good news. For example Paul
Ehrlich's kitchen is 98% finished. Rev. Knox became a grand father. Gary and Carol
Boehle peddled 550 miles around Iowa without getting a flat tire, ETC.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. Fund Raiser At Maritime Days---Still need a little help on Saturday for early
morning set-up and a few afternoon spots. Sunday is okay.
A big money making attraction is a Box where you can deposit $5 and get a hair
up-sweep or a massage from Bella Lei personnel. Bella Lei and Oz. Bank will each
match money collected up to $1,000. This goes to the Possibility Playground Fund.
Kiwanis will set up at the entrance to Rotary Park.
2. Play Ground Stand at Farmers Market--- Still need people to man the stand. Many
people stop and say how they appreciate what Kiwanis is doing to get this project
going.
3. Peanut Day-- Committee will hold the regular day at the stores but will also
attempt to sell fancy packages of Cashews and other arrangments by taking orders or
at stands. Will be in November.
4. Fish Day----Looks like a Net of about $14,000. Our first Fish day netted $2,000.
5. Raffle-- Fund Raiser Committee are tossing around an idea of having a Raffle of
300 tickets at $100 each . The winner to get $10,000 and each ticket invites 2
people to a dinner dance party at Memories.

1. Wed. Aug. 1, meals on wheels (Weldon & Louise).
2. Tuesday ,Aug. 7th. meeting at Nisleit's at 6:30 P.M. Bob Holland (YMCA) speaker.
3. Saturday Aug.11th Board Meeting at Rusty Anchor at 8:00A.M.
4. Foundation Tuesday Aug. 14th at 5:45 P.M. Club meeting at 6:30 P.M. Interclub
from Greater Sheboygan. Paul Ehrlich has a Program on Prison Literacy.
