MINUTES OF THE JULY 17th MEETING OF THE PORT KIWANIS
July 17 , 2007 No.41, 2006-2007
NEXT MEETING: SATURDAY July 21st FISH DAY!!!! Next club meeting is Tuesday July 24th
at 6:30 P.M. at Nisleit's.
MEETING: The meeting was called to order at 7:13 P.M. by Pres. John Sigwart.
Attendance--------16 members and one guest, Gary's wife Carol.
Prayer--------By Marc Eernisse.
Pledge--------Led by Pres. John.
Song---------When The Fish Go Marching In.
Thought--------By John about a 3rd grade teacher going through a Red Light.
Drawing--------Won by Marvin. $8 to the club.
GOOD NEWS:
Again 6 or 7 members had good news.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: A letter from Richard Lubinski of Greater Sheboygan asking when it
would be convienent to come to our club for an Interclub?
The club suggests August the 14th. Paul Ehrlich has the program that night. The
secretary will notify the club.
Maritime Days are August the 4 and 5th. Nearly all work spots are filled.
Fish hat construction--Went well. Many fine looking hats were constructed. Jerry
took pictures of Karen and Mardy modeling them. They can be purchased for $ 5.
Mardy also had some fence pickets which can have your family or business name on
them for $30.
Next Playground Committee meeting is July 30th.
Sally reported that International wants to change our web site to kiwanisone.org.
They also want to change the Logo.
Article in the Milwaukee Journel -Sentinal : there was a very good article about
Alexis ,the little girl who we have helped financially. The article was Monday
July 16th in the Metro section.
Through the efforts of Grace Eernisse $15,000 has been raised. $5300 is to go to the
school for mobility equipment.WE gave Grace a great round of applause.
Fish Day Cont'd: Set up to begin Friday morning. About 150 person hours have been
spoken for. We need about 250. The scouts will handle the tear down at the end of
the event.
