Tuesday meeting

MINUTES OF THE JUNE 26th MEETING OF THE PORT KIWANIS

June 26, 2007                                   No.39, 2006-2007

NEXT MEETING: THERE WILL NOT BE A MEETING ON JULY 3rd.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, July ,10 at Nisleit's at 6:30 P.M. Dan Hargarten
will  have the program.

MEETING:
The meeting was called to order at7:20 P.M. by Pres. Elect Sally Ehrlich. 
Attendance-------17 members and 3 guests. The guests were Carol Boehle and Paul
Ehrlich's daughter the mother of Paul's grandson "Paul" the speaker of the evening.
Prayer-------By Gary Boehle.
Pledge------Led by Pres. elect Sally.
Song---------My Country Tis Of Thee.
Thought----By Sally.
Drawing----Won by Paul's grandson. $10 to the club.

Good News Happy Dollars: Denny  collected 7 or 8 dollars.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: 
1. 44th Annual Kewaskum POW-POW. Thursday July 19th at Hon-E-Kor Golf and Country
Club.Dinner only, $18, at 5:30 P.M. Reservations by July 10th. See Weldon if you
want to go.
2.Maritime Heritage Festival , Aug. 4th and 5th. We have commited to run a Snow Cone
and bottled water stand. The Secretary will file the insurance papers.Karen Oleski
is in charge.
3. Pirates would like us to volunteer to pass out information about the Pirate fest
at the Fish Day parade, in Cedarburg at some parade , etc. More info to come.
4. Possible Playground Carnival & Picnic on the Bluff (Fri. June 22) . It was a
great success. Profits appear to be good.

PROGRAM: Paul Ehrlich introduced his grandson "Paul" who told us about his project
to qualify for the Eagle Scout Award. The Project is building houses for brown bats.
Paul had some finished houses . He explained how they were constructed. They must be
placed at least 10' above ground. It may take several months before the bats realize
that these are their houses.
Bats can devour 600 mosqitos per minute.  The cost of the project is $350. The
Kiwanis  and the Saukville Lions contributed. 
Paul is a member of troop 868 in Saukville.

Ralph Hess told of what is required of a scout before he can even try for Eagle. All
of the project  must be completed and approved before the Scout's 18th birthday.

NOTE: I AM GOING TO SEND EACH OF YOU A REVISED COPY OF THE SPEAKER'S SCHEDULE
,separate from these minutes. Hold on to it.

No meeting on July 4th. Meals on wheels Fri. July 6th (Louise and Weldon) . Club
meeting Tues. July 10th. Foundation Meeting @ 5:45 P.M. Board  Meeting at the Rusty
Anchor Sat. July 14th.@8A.M.
