2.	Also, did you know that The Port Washington Kiwanis Club officially began with its “Charter Night” meeting on March 16th, 1937? That meeting was held at the Masonic Temple with 28 of the 31 official charter members present. The clubs first sponsorship was the Boy Scouts of America Troop 37. This was formally passed on June 17th, 1937. The club still sponsors the same Scout group today, which is now known as Troop 837.

PROGRAM:
Mandy Plumley, Circle K Convention Chair, and Kate Morgan, Circle K Award, Regulations and History Chair presented their program on Circle K whose goal is service, leadership and fellowship. Mandy attends MSOE and Kate attends Carroll College. They shared some of their recruiting techniques such as inviting prospective members when we are having a FUN program; inviting people for the good food and having on-line members who participate in their service activities but do not attend meetings. They just finished “MAC” which stands for Membership Awareness Camp at Camp Waubeek. Mandy and Kate suggested that we mention to the Key Club at the High School that if they want to continue to see some of the friends that are going to different colleges that they join Circle K and participate in the conventions to meet with old friends. There had been a Circle K at Concordia University but not now-they suggested that we talk to Circle K’ers Matt Norby or Amanda Gallagher for their help in rebuilding a Circle K. Lastly they suggested that we participate in the Circle K District convention on March 2-4th in Green Bay-there will be a social hour on Saturday to recruit graduation seniors to Kiwanis.
