MINUTES OPF THE SEPTEMBER 5th MEETING OF THE PORT KIWANIS

NEXT MEETING: Tues. Sept. 12th at 6:30 P.M. at Nisleits restaurant. Rev. Knox will have a speaker who will speak about THE LAKEFIELD ADULT DAY CARE CENTER.
On Sat. Sept. the 9th there will be a board meeting at 8 A.M. at the Rusty Anchor. All members are welcome to attend. The Foundation will meet next  Tues. (Sept. 12th at 5:45 P.M., before our regular meeting).
 
MEETING: The meeting was called to order at 7:18 P.M. by President Dan Hargarten.
Attendance---------21 members , 4 guests --Max Mitchell, and three interclubbers from Sheboygan Sunrise Pres. Elect Bradley Buchberger, Mike Lanser, Past Pres. and Elroy Fenn, Secretary, and the speaker and her mother Amanda and Michelle Henkle.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: What Is Kiwanis---echoed by the members.
Thank You  letters from The Ozaukee Council , From WILS, and from Camp Waubeek for our contibutions.
Metting Place----At Nisleit's for the rest of Sept.  A  decision on where to meet after that will be made at the next board meeting.
Changing of the Guard will be October 3rd.
Peanut Day----Saturday Nov. 4th.
 
KIWANIS SUBURBAN TRUSTEE ELECTION: Due to our Suburban Region Trustee , Dick Anderson , being elected Pres. Elect of WI/UM, he is unable to fulfill his term as trustee. An election , with 50% of the regions clubs present to make a quoram will be held in the West Bend area (place to be announced )on Sept. 21st.
 
GOOD NEWS: Ralph , Jim and Barb , Bob Koch, John Sig., Mardy,
Gene G., and Kenny Mitchell all had Good News to the tune of $15.
 
PROGRAM: Roger Strohm introduced Amanda Henkle,a nine year old living with Juvenile Diabetes. This year Amanda is serving as the youth ambassador for the 2006 JDRF Walk To Cure Diabetes in southeast WI.
She is helping to get people organized for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, JDRF, 2006 Walk to Cure Diabetes. This will be held at Milwaukee County Zoo on Sept. 24th.
