MINUTES OF THE AUGUST 15th MEETING OF THE PORT  KIWANIS
   
  August 22 , 2005                                                 No. 46 , 2005-2006
   
  NEXT MEETING:  Tuesday Aug, 22 at 6:30 P.M. at Nisleit's. Bob Koch is scheduled to
have the speaker.
   
  MEETING: The meeting was called to order at 7:15 P.M. by Pres. Dan Hargarten.
  Attendance----------19 members and 4 guests. The guests were Geoff Giltner, Max
Mitchell, The speaker Britney Ison and her mother Cheri.
  Prayer----------By Weldon.
  Pledge--------Led by Pres. Dan.
  Song----------Smile -Sing  A Song ,  led by Karen.
  Thought----- By Weldon.
  Drawing-----Won by Jerry Wiskow. $8 to the club .
   
  ANNOUNCEMENTS: 
  1. Birthdays   -----Kenny Mitchell and Gene Giltner. Kenny wore the birthday cap
and Gene  "The mine is bigger than yours". We sang Happy Birthday. 
  2. Next two meetings are at Nisleit's. Next week we will be meeting in the room
with the fire place.
  3.Jerry will check into having several meetings at Horsefeathers in September.
  4.Fish Day report will be next week.
  5.Badger Girls State----A letter from Rosa Delucia thanhing us for sending her the
Badger Girls State.
  6.Committee Chairs--Pres. Elect , John Sigwart announced that he will be needing 4
Comm. Chairs when he takes over for the 2006-2007 year. They Are:
  Fund Raising
  Membership
  Public Relations ---Karen has volunteered.
  Sponsored Youth
   
  GOOD NEWS: John, Dan, Kenny, Sally , Gene, Jim , Ralph , Jerry and Weldon
contributed $9 to the fund.
   
  PROGRAM; Pres. Dan Introduced Britney Ison  from Port High who is a contestant in
this years NATIONAL AMERICAN MISS PAGEANT. She qualified to be in the Nationals by
finishing 3rd in the State Essay finals. The Nationals will be heldNov. 20-27th in
Los Angeles , California. 
   
  Britney is a very pretty articulate young lady. We wish her success in her endeavor. 
   
  The Foundation will discuss helping to fund her travel expenses.
   
  CALENDAR OF EVENTS:  Tues. Aug. 22nd meeting in the fire place room at Nisleit's.
Bob Koch ,Speaker.Tues. Aug. 29th. Marc Eernisse will have the Fire Chief , Mark
Mitchell as the speaker.
