PROGRAM: Mardy introduced Shannon and Susan from the Manitowoc Community Playground Committee. They explained how it is necessary to make such a project a community program. They went through how the committee nis made up of many smaller committees each of which plays an integral part in locating a site, designing, contacting playground mfg.Co's, Fund raising etc. It took them about 2 years before they built. They had raised $350,000. A tidy sum if I may say so. However once the funding was secure the entire community pitched in and built the Playground in a week or so.
It was an honest presentation of the enormousness of such a project and how only through a community effort can it be done. That's what I got out of it.
