Minutes for 2006-06-13

Tuesday meeting

MINUTES OF THE JUNE 13th MEETING OF THE PORT KIWANIS
 
June 13 , 2006                                                  No. 36 , 2005-2006
 
NEXT MEETING: Tuesday June 20th at 6:30 P.M. at Mama Mia's.
Denny Williamson  will have the two ladies who were our tour guides at the play ground in Manitowoc. Think about our project and be prepared to ask questions.
 
MEETING: The meeting was called to order at 7:05 P.M. by President Dan Hargarten.
Attendance-----------24 Members and 2 guests. The guests were Caitlin Zozakiewicz , the speaker tonight, and her Mother Cindy.
Pledge---------------Led by Pres. Dan.
Prayer-----------------By Andy Kautz
Songs-----------------While Strolling Through The Park One Day led by Elmer. You're A Grand Old Flag led by  Lowell. Later we sang Happy Birthday to Marvin, Elizabeth and Barb. Marvin wore the '
"Mine's longer than yours" hat, Liz wore the birthday hat and Barb wore the flamingo one.
Thought--------------one of Albert Switzers words of wisdom thoughts ,by Andy.
Drawing--------------Dan was the lucky winner. $ 12 to the club.
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. Fish Day is July the 15th.  We will start setting up on Fri. the 14th. Lowell and Weldon will put up the lights at 8 A.M. Mike Ehrlich is in charge of the set up which begins at about 3 P.M.
Clean the fryers--A date will be set.
2.Aluminum Can Recepticles---One is at our Pavillion. The others will soon be out.
3.Foundation ------$100 to COPE.
4.Thank you from Childrens Hospital for our $1870 gift
5. A thank you from Nicki Steinmetz for our scholarship grant.
6. Meeting Place---------We will continue to meet at Mama Mia's and discuss how things are going at the July 8th Board meeting.
 
GOOD NEWS:
Dan , Jerry, Marvin, Barb, Liz, Paul Ehr., Gene Giltner'  Roger and our guest Cindy all had good news to the tune of $9.
 
PROGRAM: Andy introduced our speaker ,Caitlin Zozakiewicz who along with the Port Junior Women's Club run a 2 week Safety Town Program between the end of school and the beginning of summer school. These students seem to be upper elementary  age. Safety is taught to them by the fire dept.,the policeand several other groups.
It was a good presentation of a very worth while program for the young children.
 
CALENDAR OF EVENTS: Tuesday June 20th playground speakers. Tuesday June 27th Who ever switched with Jeff Callies.
 
MEETING ADJOURNED:     At 7:40 P.M.
