EAGLE SCOUT TO HELP SAFETY TOWN

Brian Schanen’s Eagle Scout Project is to build new buildings and

storage carts for Port Washington’s Safety Town.

The buildings are 10 years old and show their age.

Past storage was not easy on the buildings and so special storage carts

will be constructed for safe storage of the new buildings.

Both Brian and Kiwanis have a vested interest in Safety Town.

Brian was in the first graduating class ten years ago.

And since has been an instructor at Safety Town.

Kiwanis now has assumed the lead sponsorship role since the

Junior Women’s club has disbanded.

FREE WOYC BOOKS

We have an opportunity to save some money when we order books for Week of the Young Child

(WOYC) thru Scholastic Books in Brookfield. Mardy has asked if anyone would like to team up to

go to Scholastic and putting in some time.

Scholastic Books in Brookfield is having another warehouse sale Dec. 12th through Dec. 22nd

During our sales we sign people up to volunteer by working at the check outs or greeting customers

and answering the phones.  We are able to pay our volunteers $10.00 per hour in books at the sale prices.

If anyone from Kiwanis would like to do that they could let me know.

Mardy is in charge of scheduling volunteers. The hours are:

 Friday December 12th 3pm-9pm

Saturday December 13th 8am-5pm

Sunday December 14th Closed

Monday December 15th-Friday December 19th Noon-7pm
