            ST. PADDY’S

“DAY AFTER” CELEBRATION

St Paddy’s Day After Celebration:

Grace Eernisse won (hands down) the prize for the “Greenest Person”.  Way to go Grace!!

We loved your green hair, etc.

Several members had some good Irish Jokes….

.but Weldon Reed won the prize for the best one!!

Thanks for your participation!

   A fun night!

We then enjoyed an unbelievably tasty St. Paddy’s Day meal of Corned Beef and Cabbage.

Thank you Newport Shores for taking such good care of us!!!

We decided to change our order this evening so the program was presented first,

followed by announcements and regular Club Business.

Ralph Hess introduced his program, “The Scouts…Troop 837”.

Larry Lueptow is the new leader, since January of this year.

Larry and the Scouts have been very busy with a wide

variety of community activities.  We are proud

to be their sponsor since 1937!! Yeah Kiwanis!!

There are 12 boys in the troup now and probably 4 of these

will go on to be Eagle Scouts, which is an outstanding achievement.

A question and answer period followed.

Scout Update….always a good program.

Thank you Ralph.

Announcements:

John Sigwart announced he is holding a “Shed Cleanup” on March 29th from 10:00 to Noon.  He needs some volunteers.

Anyone able to help, please contact John by phone or email.   Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Clean up is now on hold because some things are froze to the ground.

ANOTHER SUCCESFUL EASTER EGG HUNT

A giant THANK YOU to Larry Lueptow for generously donating

the use of the third floor of the former Lueptow’s Furniture Bldg

for our Kiwanis sponsored annual East Egg Hunt!!   It was a

huge success and a whole lotta fun!!!  We had 2000 eggs and

over 150 plus kids.  Everyone had a wonderful time.

Next year, we’ll try for 3000 eggs!!!

Ralph announced that we will be sponsoring our own Donna Janusch’s son as a “Badger Boy” this year!

 Congratulations Donna!

Auction:

Karen Oleski graciously donated some “home brew”.  Jim Olson, our in-house auctioneer, auctioned it off and it was won by Gary Boehle,

who says “he needs it badly”!!  Rough week Gary??  Weldon and Louise Reed also were very generous in their donation of a bottle of

Door County Wine which was also auctioned  and won by Helen Williamson.

Week of the Young Child Update by Helen Williamson. Remember Committee Chairs….if you need items,

call Helen or Mardy as we have several bins of “stuff” that might be useful for your projects.  Helen handed out sheets with items available.

Anyone wishing to assist with Week of the Young Child activities, please  contact the Chairpersons or Helen and you will be added

to the night of your choice.  You don’t want to miss out on this unbelievably FUN and rewarding community event.

We need you in any capacity you are able to volunteer for……from signing people in to assisting with the activities.
