               NOT IN MY BACK YARD

        Detectives Jeff Taylor and Lance Wagner from the Ozaukee Sheriff’s Drug unit say that’s not so.

Detective Taylor explains that Port Washington like all communities in Ozaukee County have their problems.  He is happy to report illegal drug use is not increasing. It has been flat for several years now. Detective Taylor gives the Sheriff credit, for the stability, by continuing to fund their unit after the loss of Federal funds.  They have seen other counties loosing the battle when programs were dropped due to the loss of funding. No doubt the stability can also be attributed to the dedication and hard work of the Detectives Taylor and Wagner and their staff.

He also indicated that they get excellent cooperation from the other Sheriffs departments, the police from Port and all Ozaukee communities. These other units are their eyes and ears. If a State Patrol officer stops a car in Ozaukee County and sees something suspicious the call Detective Taylor’s department. Any citizen can call when they see something suspicious and they can remain anonymous if they wish.

How can you as parents/grand parents help? Look at the friends they have. Do they head straight to their room when they come home? Know what they are doing in their room with the door closed. What posters do they have. What do they draw.  And why does a kid need a Sentry Safe?

The detectives often see the kid’s room as self contained. They have a TV, stereo and refrigerator. They only need to leave to use the bathroom. They have a cell phone.

The Detectives work for tips. Let’s keep them well supplied.

BUILDERS CLUB JUST KEEPS GOING AND GOING

These are clips from the TJ daily news letter.

Wednesday, Feb. 6th was the start of!  The "Wundie Undies" Drive brought to you by TJ's own Builders and Beta Clubs.  There'll be a "drop off" box in the office for all donations of new kiddie tee shirts, undies, or socks for our local Food Pantry clientele.  We were so generous to the children last time we did this, that the Food Pantry asked that we try it again!  Let's get the Wundie Undie spirit, and spread a little cheer.  The drive will end on Wellness Fair Day, Friday, Feb. 15th.

                            Our club helped last year lets do it again. Time is short this time. Bring newly purchased items to the Valentines party at the Wilson House and Jerry will get them to TJ.

Builders Club will be doing a special Valentine project for the clients of the Food
Pantry.  All members are asked to bring 2 dozen cookies on Monday February 11th - heart-shaped plain and/or decorated for Valentines Day, if possible.  Then, those that are able will stay after school to help decorate and pack up the sacks of treats, which will be handed out with the weekly food distribution.  Last year we heard how thrilled those folks were to get a little something special to brighten their holiday and the kids had a great time making up the bags.

Even if your student is not in Builders Club, you would be welcome to bring in some cookies for our collection.  They can be dropped off in the office any time before 2:30 on Monday.

                         Another chance for our club to help. This Monday morning bake some hart shaped cookies and rush them to TJ.

Elmer Adam celebrates his ++++ 16th ? ++++birthday by sharing a story.

It seams a neighbor lady slammed her cats tail in the door cutting it off. She immediately rushed the cat and severed tail to Wal-Mart. Being it was the nearest re-tail store.

Happy Birthday Elmer. We wish you many more.

And you can bring us a story any time.
