Showing Their Colors

Two days after the Green Bay Packers won the Super Bowl, Kiwanis members Jerry, Sally and Paul, were still celebrating by wearing the Green and Gold.

DECA Members to Compete

Port Washington marketing instructor and DECA advisor, Mark Bichler, brought two of his students who described the competition they are preparing for.

DECA is a High School and College organization of students interested in marketing and management.

The competition involves a hypothetical situation requiring the students to develop a plan of action. They are given a written description of the situation and given a few minutes to read it and develop a plan of action. Then they present their plan to a panel of judges who can quiz them and finally judge them. Success advances them to the next level, possibly to the national level.

Students choose in advance the area they will compete in, such as fast food marketing, so they can study and practice their problem solving skills.

Bowling for Kids Sake

March 11th at 7:30 pm a team of bowlers headed by Carol Boehle and consisting of Gary Boehle, Karen Oleski, Ralph Hess and Jerry Wiskow quaff their first beer strap on their shoes and roll that big ball at those distant pins.

The objective is to have fun and raise money for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Ozaukee County. So even if you are not bowling, come and support the team.  Each member has committed to raise $75 in pledges so please consider helping with your dollars.

Key Club Fund Raiser

The High School Key Club is in the planning stages of a fund raising competition.

They will have the Home Rooms compete in making cash donations and the Home Room with the most donations will win. The prize is still being decided upon but could be a pizza party, ice cream party or something similar.

The club has decided the money will go to Children’s Hospital and the members are looking for a specific project at the hospital to earmark the funds for.
